Onninen is a Finnish company which has been continuously operating since 1913 and is one of the global leaders of the technical material supply market. Our offer includes integrated material solutions for installers, retail, industry, and public institutions in the electro-technical, sanitary, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning sectors. The company sells more than 170 thousand products.

The main objective of the project implemented by Unity Group was the development of an online store for retail clients and the integration of this platform with the customer’s sales and distribution (ERP) system. From the very beginning, the project was run using agile methodology, which enabled us to provide a product that meets the current e-commerce market needs.

A modern B2C platform created based on PHP technology

The platform architecture assumes the launch of a central Backoffice management area with information on inventory statuses (Warehouse Status Server), prices (Price Server) and product information (PIM).

The sales platform was integrated with the client’s ERP (SAP) system with the use of the ESB Data Bus – an OpenSource class solution, which enables a flexible and scalable connection of applications, but most importantly, it allows for data flow between them in real time. This is especially important for product and order information flow as well as when updating inventory on-time statuses.

  • Omnichannel commerce: availability of the click and collect option, ability to return purchased products at points of sale, ability to make purchases by phone
